Warn Bar System & Board Rules:

This is based off every 90 days. Go 3 months, start over. Your first warnings will be in the thread where the problem originates. Second warning to the Member will be through the Personal Messenger system. I advise all Members to pay attention to these warnings. They are meant to get you back on topic, etc,... Essentially, they are a nudge. A "heads up", if you will. There will be an option open to Senior Officers(Moderators) to suspend Member posting privileges for one day. This will only occur if a Member reaches Number 2 on the "Warn Bar System" listed below. Or, said Member become beligerent towards the Staff and continues his/her actions regardless of said warnings above, and warnings below as stated in the "Warn Bar System".

The Senior Officers, my term for Moderators, do this to keep things with-in the board rules, and to keep a topic from becoming a brawl. Which, may turn people off from participating here at ATOC. The Senior Officers(Moderators) are volunteers. They take time out of their busy day to moderate here at ATOC. They want this place to be as enjoyable, and thought provoking, as other Members here at ATOC. So please give them the respect, and attention, they deserve when they give you a warning.

The following "Warn Bar System" goes into effect only if the above warnings in the Topic thread, and Personal Messenger, aren't enough. So, please read the follwing. Understand it. Remember it. I want this to be a great Online Community. Where we can all hang out, enjoy great conversations, and have fun.

Warn Bar System:
  • 1st offense: 1 block for 2 days
  • 2nd offense: 3 blocks for 5 days
  • 3rd offense: 4 blocks for 1 week
  • 4th offense: Suspend for 10 days
  • 5th offense: Ban for 1 month
  • 6th offense: Ban 2 months or more, or permanent
Admin Note: Member posting privileges suspension authorized for "Warn Bar System" Number 2, and above. Suspensions for one(1) day, is available to Senior Officers(Moderators). This is to allow said Member time to cool off. And for the Admins to confer with the Staff on what has transpired. Members posting privileges will be restored after 24-hrs have passed.


Board Rules:
  • 1. Be courteous to other members. If you disagree with a member, then do so respectfully. Do not attack the person, only debate the ideas. If you wish to have a "heated debate" take it to PM.
  • 1.(A) Spoilers; All spoilers must be hidden, to include discussion of them. Use the spoiler tags at all times, if you're not sure.
  • 2. No discusions of Bit-Torrent, or any other illegal downloading service, will be allowed. All posts of such discussions will be deleted and your Warn-Bar increased. If it persists, your posting abilities may be suspended for one week, or more. ADDENDUM: If you burn/copy games, movies or other materials, do not post about it on the board. PM only.
  • 3. No Trolling, period.
  • 4. No posting of anyone's personal information including IP addresses, e-mails, phone numbers, mailing address, family names, or the like.
  • 5. Pictures: (a)Signature: 600pixels Wide by 200pixels High, (b)Posts/Threads: Use a picture hosting site if possible. NO PORNOGRAPHY, period. Also there is a two (2) picture limit per member, per thread, per day. When adding pictures in a post, limit the size to 1200 pixels high and 600 pixels wide. (c)Avatars: 200 pixels high by 150 pixels wide.
  • 6. Use your normal handle. I do not allow for clones or multiple handles. Be who you are. All cloned or multiple handles will be deleted, and the member involved may face a banning.
  • 7. Plotting or scheming for the mere purpose of causing disruption to the board may get you banned. This includes but is not limited to impersonating others, cloning someone's identity, spreading unsubstantiated rumors without backing up your statements, engaging in conduct primarily designed to create a disturbance, making hostile references to a member's family, or issuing threats or ultimatums to gain concessions. Any disruptive behavior deemed too troublesome for the moderator staff will also get you banned at the sole discretion of the Administrator.
  • 8. Intentionally lying may also get you banned.
  • 9. Bringing disputes from other boards to this board is prohibited. Keep any disputes from somewhere else OFF THE BOARD. If you have a personal problem with someone on this board from something said here, take it to PM. If it becomes abusive, feel free to alert a Senior Officer(Global Mod), if it still persists and they cannot deal with it, contact our Executive Officer(Assistant-Admin). If they cannot seem to handle it, the Commanding Officer(Admin) will get involved by PMing the folks involved, and suspend and/or ban the person(s) involved, if necessary.
  • ADDENDUM: If you experience technical, or any other problem, please contact a Senior Officer(SO) first. They may be able to help you with your problems. If they can't, the Senior Officer will contact the Executive Officer(XO), or myself to help with the problem. Please, contact Senior Officers FIRST before trying our XO, or myself(Tibbetts, the CO). The XO and I are charged with maintaining the behind the scenes problems that keeps the board running smoothly. We have SO's to deal with possible minor problems.
  • 10. If you repeatedly knock this site, or its members elsewhere, or knock another board and its members here, don't expect to stay a member for long. If you wish to complain about another site or its members, take it to PM.
  • 11. No spamming to increase your post count. If I see this, your posting privileges will be restricted for one week. Bantering back and forth for good fun is fine. I do not consider that Spamming.
  • 12. Remember, this board has folks under the age of 18. Please be mindful of that when starting threads or posting. This means do not post adult material. Link to it only, including any lyrics for music you may have.
  • 13. All New Members should check for, and read, any new announcements in the Admin Announcement and Senior Officers' Announcements Forums upon entering the board. That way, you are always up-to-date on any recent developments/events by the Command Staff.
  • 14. If you have a rumor, please state that it is a rumor. If you have read an Article online and you are referencing it in your conversation, please provide the link in your post. Those that fail to do so, will be warned by a post in that thread, or by PM. Keep the link open source, meaning no passwords or user ID's are required.
  • 15. If your account hasn't been used in 90 Days, it will be deleted at the next board purge. I retain the right to delete any account that has not been used in the last 90 days.
  • 16. We do not allow for commercial advertisements. Any commercial interests solicited or unsolicited in posts or signatures are subject to approval by staff, and may be subject to removal. This is not a free board, although use of it is, therefore any attempt to solicit members of this board is extremely subjective to staff approval. If you are found to be using this board solely for commercial advertisement, you will be warned once, and your post removed. If you repeat it, you will be banned. We do not consider advertising your own message board, MySpace, and Facebook, as commercial advertisement.
  • 17. Ignorance of the board rules is not an excuse for breaking them. So check them frequently. I expect my moderators to do so, and my members as well.

Administrative note:
The board is best viewed at a minimum resolution of 1024x768.
